Ajou University Museum was established on November 7th, 1993. It offers valuable knowledge about Korean history and culture to Ajou University students and local residents. The museum was also created to provide research materials to specialists through the collection and storage, exhibition, investigation, research, and education of these ruins and relics from prehistoric to modern times.
The museum helps visitors experience Korea's cultural heritage in an open space through events, lectures, and other programs. It plays a big role in the lives of and the local community, and also provides educational materials by publishing the annual academic journal, Archaeological Studies of Science and Technology.
The museum relocated to the first floor of Jonghap Hall on campus in April 2013. During the relocation, the Museum of Tools and Ajou History Exhibition Hall opened in honor of Ajou University’s 40th anniversary.
Ajou University’s Museum of Tools has an important collection of technologies and tools from prehistoric to modern times which is on public display year-round. The Ajou History Exhibition Hall provides visitors with an understanding of the history and the progress of Ajou University from its foundation to the present day.
In addition, if you visit Ajou University Hospital on the first and second floor, you can enjoy various works of art featuring daily household items from the past. It provides a cultural space for citizens and its delightfully creative installations stimulate visitors’ imaginations.
